The Senators drop their third game in a row in a 9-6 loss against the D.C Grays

The Senators ran into trouble early. The Grays strung together a walk and a couple of hits to load the bases with 2 outs, but the Senators got a much needed flyout to keep the game even at 0.

In the Top of the 3rd the Grays continued to put more pressure on the Senators. A single and then a 2 run homer to right field gave the Grays an early 2-0 lead.

The Grays struck again in the 6th. A double, single and stolen base put 2 runners in scoring position for the Grays. An E1 allowed one run to score and then a wild pitch allowed another run to score, extending their lead to 4.

After only having 1 hit against Grays starter Simon Corbin through 5 innings, the Senators found their bats in their third time through the lineup in the 6th. Chase Fulford (Binghamton) led off the inning with a single, Braylen Gonzalez (Binghamton) followed that up with a walk and a Logan Tribble (Norte Dame) RBI double got the Senators on the board making it 4-1. Zach Anderson (Binghamton) then hit an infield RBI single, but a throwing error allowed a second run to score, cutting the deficit to one. Cole Rhame (Richmond) followed this up with his first bomb of the season, a 2 run shot to left field to give the Senators the lead 5-4.

Immediately after this inning the Senators surrendered the lead back in the Top of the 7th. The Grays quickly put two runners on base with a single and a double. With 2 outs the Grays put together back-to-back-to-back RBI base hits, giving the Grays the lead back 8-5.

Both teams tacked on 1 more run each to reach the final score of 9-6.

The Senators get the next two days off before they play the Aces at home on Thursday.
