The Senators took care of business at home, winning their wild card playoff game against the Thunderbolts 3-1.
Nothing notable happened until the bottom of the third inning. Bryce Palms (Youngstown State) doubled and Chase Fulford (Binghamton) drew a walk. James Layman (Xavier) capitalized with an RBI single to score the first run of the game.
In the Bottom of the fifth, back-to-back singles from Jack Euart (Wofford) and Chase Fulford put a runner in scoring position for the Senators. Cole Rhame (Richmond) then laced an RBI single to centerfield to score another run, doubling the Senators lead 2-0. A wild pitch then allowed Fulford to score from 3rd, making it a 3-run ballgame.
The Thunderbolts started to show signs of life in the top of the eighth. A single and a groundout put a runner on second base. The Thunderbolts then got a much needed RBI single to put them within 2 runs.
Ryan Conrad (Villanova) shut the door on the Thunderbolts with 2 strikeouts in the 9th inning, earning the save and advancing the Senators to the Semi finals
Brody Juntunen (Florida Atlantic) started the game and had 7 k’s over 6 scoreless innings, earning the win.
